Hello,

We're running into problems having a sitemap generated for the site www.directinputmanagement.com, which is built on the GK_Fest template.

While we realize we can manually create a sitemap, we've never had a generator tell us it can't create a sitemap for any of our other Joomla sites.

Is there a reason this would be happening with this template in particular? Or anyone have a similar experience and were able to track down the problem & solution?

Thanks,
Mal

Hi,
which component you're using for sitemap creator if xmap - it's fault of this extension, templates CAN NOT interfere with the operation of components.

Sorry it's taken so long to get back to this. I've tried researching this again to figure out what the issue might be and I've not been able to come up with anything thus far.

To clarify, if we try to generate a sitemap at http://www.xml-sitemaps.com of the website www.directinputmanagement.com, no pages are listed. Our other joomla websites list all the pages when we use the same tool to generate a sitemap.

Would you have any idea why this would be the case with the Fest template, or what would be stopping the generator from scanning/listing the pages?

Thanks for any tips you might be able to provide.

First, I'm not sure that is connected with GK template.
Because I've tested xml-sitemaps.com online tool with Fest Quickstart demo and few others and he generated sitemap.

p.s.
Free version has limitation -- Maximum 500 pages will be indexed in sitemap.

Second, why don't you use Xmap or any other SEO extension, hmm ?

Ok, thanks. I could manually make a sitemap or try an extension, but this doesn't solve the issue that for some reason the site can't be mapped, and I'm concerned that if it can't be mapped then can it be crawled properly by search engines. Webmaster tools doesn't report errors but also doesn't have a whole bunch of info and not all the pages are indexed and the site's been up for months. Something's going and I'll just have to see if I can figure out what. Thanks for checking it.

If you're unsure you can always change template to default and use online sitemap creator again, then change to GK.
p.s. But remember that template doesn't manage links etc.
