JFile component error

This error shows up at the top my page. turning off the ‘system-k2’ plugin fixes the error but then I cant use any k2 features
JFile: :read: Unable to open file: /hermes/waloraweb041/b2063/moo.pudgypixelcom/eac_pupa/components/com_k2/js/k2.js?v2.6.6&sitepath=/eac_pupa/

This error showed up randomly while I was editing modules. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the k2 plugin but it didn’t fix the issue. I’m hoping anyone here can provide a solution.

It looks like the issue is related with K2 but you should check this on Beez template. Please try to reinstall extension or make sure that file with K2 want to load exist.

thanks the error doesn't appear on Beez template. i tried re-installing K2 again but the error is still there.
here's what's in that directory if it helps with a solution

The error is visible on some particular page or for all K2 pages ?

Looks like some file is missing. When did you notice the problem ? Maybe some problem is causing this issue ?
