Hello,

GK Fashion - GK Cache - Falang Translation - Main Menu does not switch to language selected while other modules and content does.

** we test on GK Fashion latest template version download running under joomla 2.5.9.

We encountered a problem when enabling the GK cache - GK Cache system with falang.

- When the gk cache is switch OFF, and we select a particular language in the Falang language switcher, the main menu and all the other content appear correctly in the language selected.

- Then, when the gk cache is switch ON, and we select a particular language in the Falang language switcher, the main menu stays in english the default language.
but all the other content (component, modules) are correctly shown in the language selected.

We tried to move in the plugin manager the language switcher above the gk cache. but the result is the same

Is there a specific procedure to set the mainmenu in order to be used with falang in order to show the translated menu for a particular language?

Apparently the GK cache prevents the switch to another language and stays in the default language.

Thank you for your answer.

Quick correction

the main menu is correctly switching to the selected language if we enable ONLY the "System - GK Cache".

but if we enable as well the "System - GK Extended Cache", the problem occurs.

thus it seems the "System - GK Extended Cache" is the problem .

in our setup , we have the following order in the plugin manager

System - FaLang Database Driver
System - GK Cache
System - GK Extended Cache

Hi

Yes You are right, unfortunately we do not support Falang yet, so You will need to use GK Cache alone or a default joomla language solution explained here: https://www.gavick.com/documentation/qu ... oomla-1-7/.

I like Falang better too :(

Hello

Thank you for your answer. we will stay with only the gk cache enabled then.

the default joomla language solution is not a viable option....

I can not even believe , they came up with that idea. If you were to manage 5 languages, and had 5000 articles you would duplicate each one in a different language ?

Hi

Yes. I agree. Default joomla language option is ridiculous :)

Hi!

I'm having the same problem. I'm using Falang in order to change the language in my website, but I have a lot of problems with this component because it is not working, and as you said, using joomla multilingual option is the worst way to build a website...

Does anyone knows if it will be compatible with a gavick templates in a future? If not, is there another option to be used with GK templates?

Thanks!

Hi

The only problem is with GK cache and falang, so please install a differet cache solution. Also is couple of cases I was able to make it work only with changing the order of plugins loaded for website.
