hi

I try to install a Quickstart package (gk_appsprotech_quickstart_J25.zip).

In step 4 of the installation, I have this message :
" Impossible de se connecter à la base de données. Le connecteur a renvoyé le numéro : Unable to connect to the Database: Could not connect to MySQL.
"

As mentioned here, I have created a datase , and assigned "a user account to this new database with full permissions control over this database".

But it doesn't work as you can see.

Please, could you help me?

Thanks,

S.

Hi

I've installed this template locally to check if there is no error in its code. It went fine. Please send me an access to ftp and database so I'll try to install it in Your server.

I had just before found the solution.

It was mentioned here :
"After all files are exported, you need to create a new database that will be used on the installation of your new Joomla! website"
=> in my case, it was not necessary. The solution was for me to let the quick start package to create by itself the database......
And the good password is root for user root.

Tank you for your help

Hi there

I have the same problem when trying to install the quick package. I am on the second page but it says "Could not connect to MySQL."

How do I do it so the application creates it'w own DB?
thanks

Hi

This error usually means that database access is wrong, but I've seen firefox having problems with it before, even with clean joomla version, so try maybe use a different browser.
