With luck a simple question. Updating "Joomla" itself - do I just FTP the "update" files to their locations from the "Update" package? . . . don't want to blow up my site and the "update" on the Gavick Template page just seems to hang on "getting information".

The best way is firstly update template and then use build in Joomla update process (via backend), but always remember to backup your site.
