Ok - I need some major tech help here…Not sure where the problem is but it appears to be a bug or glitch in the Corporate2 template. I'm running in to it with my Internet Explorer Users…I'm on a Mac so I haven't seen the problem in Firefox

I have a Joomla 1.7 site (though the same problem happened in 1.6) and I'm running a Gavick template (Corporate2)

At various times when I click on a link in the top menu the browser crashes and then reopens the tab. At first I thought it was only occurring when I click on Joomla Wrapper link…but I've found it happening randomly at times on regular article pages as well…

I have installed UA Compatibility code to IE7 in the <head> area and that stopped the crashing but contributed to a number of style problems...so I need to keep users on ie8

Also if I switch the site to the beez20 template I don't get a problem with crashing when I try all of the links I have in the Gavick Menu...

In the Corporate2 site when it crashes I get an initial error that states:

Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.

When I click on the error report it says:

Error Signature
App Name: iexplore.exe
App Version: 8.0.6001.18702
ModName: mshtml.dll
ModVer: 8.0.6001.19088
Offset: 000678d8

I have a virtual desktop running on my Mac and when I view the site and try to repeat it DOES NOT happen…HOWEVER my version of ie8 is

Version: 8.0.7600.16385 64-bit Edition
Cipher Strength: 256-Bit
Update Version: 0

So obviously there is something going on between 8.0.6 and 8.0.7 and I need to know how to fix it…

I obviously can't force end users to upgrade to 8.0.7 but is there some code I need to look at it in the template? Any ideas as to what is causing the crash? Nine times out of Ten it reloads the tab and loads the page properly but the error is still prompting the user.

I hate Internet Explorer…This has been a major headache for days now…

Thanks!
