Quickstart - how to install

Hi all, can anyone please tell me how you actually activate the quickstart once all the files have been loaded into the directory. The instructions at Gavick just say "Open your browser at the address/directory where you will perform the installation", this leaves out a whole bunch of steps.

I am used to installing Joomla via simplescripts.

Can anyone please detail these steps.
Where do I go and what do I do once I am there.

I have copied the quickstart to the directory and then I installed joomla via simplescriopts which over writes the database. I'm assuming this will not work.

any thoughts?

Can I suggest you re-upload a fresh copy of the unpacked Quickstart file again, I would not recommend using simplescripts to install the Joomla section separately. The Quickstart file contains the Joomla installation plus it is also integrated with the demo template files which have been configured into the entire process.

When you have all the files re-uploaded, when you launch the domain in question, you will be prompted to follow the steps as if installing a new Joomla site.

Have a read over a help documentation PDF file from a Joomla 1.5 Gavick template, there is more information available.
