Hiya,

I am having problems with a Gavick Gamebox based site that I have migrated from one server to another.

On the old server no problems. On the new server the website is blank. Nothing displays. I can, however, login to the admin backend.

If I change to a different template (JA Purity etc) then the problem is solved, put it back to Gamebox and it will not display. It is not a config.php problem and I have tried moving files twice now just incase anything was corrupted first time round.

I know Rockettheme recommend certain procedures when migrating some of their templates. Is there something I need to be aware of for this T3 based template? Could caching systems be caused a problem?

Thanks,

Abbie

I'm suggesting you to try AkeebaBackup.

Hi

Please change in joomla panel's global configuration for server error dicplayoing to maximum and show me Your site.

In most cases such behaviour was connected with wrong PHP version on the server, but probably the errors will tell us more.

Hiya,

Thanks for responses. I had already tried both. Akeeba Backup didn't solve and maximum error reporting didn't return any errors, the screen was just blank.

However, I have worked out via a process of elimination.

For me it was the pre-packaged K2 component causing problems. I had a K2 module on the frontpage of the site, linking to a K2 powered blog. When I disabled the module the front page appeared. The blog however would not load and still returned a blank screen.

I went into my dedicated server and rebuilt Apache 5.2.9 to include multibyte string support. Details on how to do this can be found here: http://forums.cpanel.net/f34/php-multibyte-string-functions-114813.html. These are not changes you can make yourself on shared hosting.

That solved the issue. Am documenting incase anyone else experiences the same.

Cheers,

Abbie

Oh and the reason the front page loaded OK on the JA Purity template is due to different standard module positions - the front page K2 module wasn't being displayed when I switched over to that template.
