Party Freak - not like the demo

Hi I installed the template on my website. I tried to copy the

gk_style to components/com_community/templates but I don't see "com_community anywhere.

Where is this located since its not in the components folder?

Jomsocial is a thirdy part component. You should buy and install it!!!

I saw that Joomsocial is $99 per year. Why do I have to buy it separately. I thought partyfreak would include all that I needed.

If i use a different template, would I have to buy joomsocial as well?

You dont HAVE TO buy jomsocial it's an optional extra to joomla that makes your website community based like Facebook/MySpace etc.
If u don't have JomSocial just ignore that step your website will still look almost the same, they include the JomSocial templates because it is very popular, however it can end up being very expensive as u have to pay extra for all the good components.

What kind of website are using the template for? I try and advice you whether u need it or not.

As I said if you don't have it now don't worry u can still install template and it will still work fine.

have you done a lot to your website? if its still in the designing stages delete your installation and use the quickstart to install joomla from scratch, then it'll look just like the demo

Exactly like our demo, you need to purchase JomSocial Component because some of content comes from it. But the design and the rest of content is there.

I copied gk_style to com_community/templates. It installs on my website but it still doesn't look like http://demo.gavick.com/index.php?year=2010&month=Mar

Can you please tell me what I'm doing something wrong? I want my site to look like your demo and then replace each item myself.

You installed the template, what you need to do is install the quickstart, this is actually a complete fresh joomla instalation. the instructions are in the read me file that came with the template. If you didn't download the quickstart, download it now and delete your current instalation of joomla and start from scratch for the best effect.

If you struggle with anything let us know, but remember its the weekend and people arent here 24/7 so it might take a while to reply back, but we will reply back

instructions are in the documentation download thats available there

I have read this instructions but page 6 just says " installation is the same like original joomla installation.

My server I just select - Application --> Joomla and enter my login/pwd. That's all.

How can I install quickstart, please provide more detail or send instructions.

Anywhere on your site that I can find this?

To install Quickstart You need a clean space on the server (without joomla, extensions etc.). Downlaod Quickstart, copy it to server and run it. Than follow the instructions when joomla is installing.

I think he uses fantastico or the godaddy panel to install joomla.

Forget that. Empty your public_HTML folder on your server then follow these instructions

Except instead of using using the joomla download u use the QuickStart files

I tried to do this process and created a big mess. I would like to know if someone could help me install the demo on my server. I don't mind paying since I already bought the Party Freak template and Jomsocial. Why not throw more money away. This is very fustrating. I don't understand why it was just included in the zip file as oppose to having to go through hoops just to install the demo...

We forgot to include the quickstart instructions on PartyFreak HelpFile.
Anyway, please download the Gamebox Helpfile here and follow the chapter of quickstart installation and JomSocial theme style files.

The process is the same.

Also, if you like see this video tutorial that shows how to install the Quickstart version on localhost server or live host.
