Blog/News feed on front page?

Hey guys really stuck here, All I want to do is have a blog format/article feed on my home page like the one on here. I want to do the whole thing with the dates on the side, etc, but cannot find how to do this?

Did You try to change "Menu Item Type" for "Home" element ?
