SOLVED - iOS 4.3 on iPhone 4 doesn't load iPhone template

Memovie Joomla Template support forum for Joomla 1.5 only.

Has anyone found that the Memovie template doesn't load the iPhone version on an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.3? iPhone 4 with an earlier iOS loads the correct template fine, but the latest iOS loads the normal, desktop template.

Does this happen on any other templates?

I'm searching for a solution, so if I find one, I'll be back and I'll post it.

I've checked two iPhone 4 units with iOS 4.3 (cleared cache, history and cookies) and they both load the default template. I've found a few posts in interweb land that may be able to help me fix it.

Apparently I need to update the user agent. And looks like it will be some extra code in the file templates/gk_memovie/libs/mobile_device_detect.php

Will keep you posted.

Ok, so I got my hands on a third iPhone 4, which needed the update to iOS 4.3. Did the update, loaded the website and the iPhone template loaded!

dziudek, you may be right. I still remain tentative.

I have one more iPhone 4 I can test it on when I get back home.

Got one more iPhone 4, updated to iOS 4.3 and the website loaded fine.

I'm happy to say that the template has no issue with iOS 4.3.

We have a lot of visitors to our website daily and we promote our iPhone compatibility quite a bit. So it is essential that our website works correctly in iPhones.

In case anyone runs into this problem, this is how to make sure that you have the correct iPhone settings to show the iPhone template.

1. Close Safari and open the iPhone Settings
2. Press Safari
3. Scroll to the bottom and select Clear History, Clear Cookies and Clear Cache
4. Open Safari and the website should load correctly with the iPhone template.

Thanks for your help testing the iPhone template, everyone. Very much appreciated.

I'm still having no luck. I have an iPhone 3GS with the latest iOS. Should that work?
