Hi,

There is not a update patch for the theme? Just full install?

How can I keep the modifications that I made to css files??

Hi there,
I have the same question regarding an update of "Corporate 2" to version 1.1!

If there is no patch, could you provide maybe a list of changed files?

Thanks a lot!

Best regards,

Personally I have made it a habbit to not change anything in the existing CSS, but instead I make the changes with new lines in the button of the CSS files, which can be copy pasted in directly after an update. These will override the standard declarations.

Only problem is if updates makes changes to CSS that results in your modifications not being valid anymore...

If no changelog exist then a way could be to compare the edit time of the files on your site and in the update which of course requires an application that can do that.

erm...
i think this habit is not so convenient in all cases,
because usually the css rules that come in the bottom of the css files have more priority than the ones in the beginning of the file

I suggest u continue with this habit with caution

what i do is that i downloaded a software for file and folder comparing
i download both the update (gavick) and my directories (on the site)
and let the software compare and point out the differences to me
(it even shows u the lines of difference in the code)

it might take a time to complete everything, but it does the trick

ouch! :S

Good point flora!

Can you let me know which software you use for the comparisson? This would save me the time of finding something and also has proved that it works...

Thanks,
Stefan

http://www.brothersoft.com/files-compar ... 29309.html
it's a freeware, and u'll get the hang of it fast,

The point is: There is no easy way :)

But it should be quite easy for the Gavick team to point out which files are changed ?

WHICH files are changed is the easiest thing to tell
the long process is WHAT& WHERE it's changed

even if Gavicks tell u WHAT is changed,
u still can't search WHERE each file or each line is MANUALLY
(u can but it takes a looong time)
u will definitely need a software to help u merge differences between directories,
or lines of code in the files with a click of a button.
not necessarily the software i proposed, but any similar tool will do :)

and yes i agree, there is no easy way :)

You are right flora. But when you change the CSS files via the related section inside the Joomla Admin area you know at least which files you changed and which you didn't. Thus it would at least tell you which files you have to have a closer look at. And I presume that the others would be replaced anyway.

And I also agree: there is no easy way - or at least non fast way... ;)

Thank you guys.

No easy way I see... :(

A change log by file could help...

I was able to update to 1.2 and then change the css files again.

I found 3 problems so far.

1. Login bottom is missing
2. THe update added some white borders in mod_news_pro_gk1 imagens using Gavick Image Show as you can see here:

Image

3. Logout in user menu isn't working. Goes to 404 error.

Any help to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi

Some changes to css was already written in Your other thread. The option in template configuration to show tools was disabled.

How can I see the 3rd problem?

I was talking about Logout in user menu. I've disable this one now and use yours. This way work so I move on.

These are all fixed now.
