New to Joomla and the theme

I've managed to install Joomla with this theme using the quickstart package and had a couple of questions. Please excuse them in they are n00b questions as I haven't used Joomla before but am a reasonably experienced Wordpress user.

1) How do I specify for a movie to exist in a a particular section- for example in the Featured box at top (where the demo has Shutter Island, Wolfman Legions etc.) Similarly, how can I chose which movies appear in the New Releases and Top Previews section.

2) Is there a way to add a movie in the database and then create all articles around it? Maybe the movie info can be downloaded from IMDB and then I can add previews, reviews, competition etc.

3) I wanted to add a Top-10 at the Box Office list that's updated every week. What would be the best way of doing this

4) What can I use for adding competitions? We give away movie tickets every week and would like to add that

5) Why are certain posts in the default Joomla category and articles while others in K2. What should I use going forward?
