The World News II topmenu1 pulldown

Is it possible to have sub-menu items, pulldown (like in the mainmenu), in a menu positioned in topmenu1?

If so, is it possible using the Joomla menu system and options along with the TWN2 options? Or, does it require an additional extension? If an extension is needed, what are some options? Any recommendations?

No, this is regular Joomla! menu module which don't have all GK Menu features. You can use only one GK Menu on site. You should look for some 3rd party extensions, there are many Joomla! menu modules at extensions.joomla.org
