Weather module error

Hello All.
I have a very strange problem / error with weather module.

in some sites of my portal sometimes module show error like :

XML PARSING ERROR AT 2:14. ERROR 41: ATTRIBUTE WITHOUT VALUE

on red background and in module position its show

An error occured during parsing XML data. Please try again.

strange is becouse whene i refreshing this site everything is ok - but i close tab with my portal and reopen it problem still exist.

Same problem for me with the Weather module GK4 ver 1.3 - 1.5 .
Have you resolved this issue ?

Hi Wolak.
I've resolved this issue clearing my personal "Encoding" value and setting valid "Longitude" and "Latitude" values in the "General Settings" on the Weather module.

thanks but this not help - error is still on

and i do not understund this error - some time he is and after refreshing is off

any ideas ?

Can you disable cache setting in module settings > external files > use cache "off" and see if its still causing problems.

Also if you are not aware Google Weather Api servers are having problems recently so problem could be caused by if module cannot get any xml data from servers.

i do what you tell me but its doesnt work... this problem show me fisrt about 15 days ago but i think that it was something with my wifi. last few days it is show every time when i checking my site
when i change from googe to yahoo problem is still exist

do ylu thing that problem is a with google serwer ? about 20 days they still will have a problem with weather serwer ?
i think that the problem is with module but i do not know what...

any other ideas ? pls this problem is very upset

As I have explained problem is with google server api as they are thinking of stopping igoogle and any gadgets api used in that service which weather api is part of it.

You can see this error popup in or around 7 August all of a sudden including with other developer / extension builders weather module or modules using similar Google Api's.

If you search the error number we are not the only developer who is having problems with weather module and same error number.

We will still investigate this but currently there is no possible fix for this.

Issue is probably related with news weather API from wunderground.com who is a official provider of feed for google. I think that problems with feed availability can be also related with plans about iGoogle product (api was created for one of igoogle widgets).

I decided to change from google to yahoo because it is more stable.

I have a question where can I change the language settings - I can not translate because I do not know where to look - translated as I could but the rest I do not know where to look

and how to set that showed the 4 icons - now there is 1 large and 2 small and I'd like 4 small as I had with google

Thx - i`ve just install it can u tell me where i can find "mist" word in lang file ? becouse i`ve translate "en-GB.mod_weather_gk4.ini" file but there was not this word...

and how can i change numbers of icons - at know i have 3 - 1 big and 2 smaler; i wanted to have like before with google - 4 smal icon for 4 days. is it posible to change and where and how ?

Yahoo weather support forecast only for 2 days so the layout exactly the same like in previous version is impossible (with 4 icons). Are you sure that you've translated module file in root/languages/en-GB directory ? Remember to copy new lang file there during module update.

yes - i`m sure - in that category in "en-GB.mod_weather_gk4.ini" we can not find the "mist" word.
maybe somewhere else i should search it but i don`t know where... ?

and regarding changing icon - if i can not change the amount of icons, how to change the description of this 2 icons?
for example :

Date returned from yahoo API is in this format without custom changes in code you can't delete this part. I've checked the weather codes on yahoo API (http://developer.yahoo.com/weather/) and don't see here any 'Mist' option. But maybe the API is to up to date.

i have also check the weather codes on yahoo API on your link and there is no option "rain shower" - look at attached file ==> the same situation like i have with option "mist"

there is no exist in lang file and on yahoo api codes but exist on site - how it is possible ? i fink that somewhere it have to be wrote so it can be translate...

I suspect that the API description is up to date. Did you get any other weather statuses which are not translated ? I think we need collect this missing API parts and then release an update.

as for now its only "mist"and "rain shower" - if i see new other one i give you know.

is there possible to add new lang code in language ini file ? or you need to create new update for all module.
maybe easier will be add few new code line in ini file ?

It demands changes in code and in language file to match data from yahoo to translations from .ini file.

we have to do something with it becouse now i looks not profesional - its translate in polish but some word are in enaglish

maby you build next update but only for this word or maby you send me what i shoul change to fix this and translate this words to polish ?

"Thunder" another word that is not exist in INI lang file

"Light Rain" and anither word that is not exist in INI LANG file....

can we do something with it ? it is geting me a little angry that i can`t translate it and some word i have in PL and some in ENG...

I'll write a mail to yahoo - maybe they can give us updated weather statuses list. We can translate only this parts which are listed on API pages or mentioned here because there is no easy way to test all weather conditions

Light Rain was included in 1.6.2 update.
