Articles without category associated to a menu don't work

I am using Joomla articles with NSP GK4 and also facing the problem described in the link:

Actually, I had figured this solution even before finding this article. Although, it sounded to me that I was doing more like a workaround than getting to a real solution to the problem. So, I decided to look for a solution in the forum. This is how I've got here.

Doing some additional tests I have found that at the template configuration, if I switch the template configuration as follows:
MainBody Frontpage to component only - it starts to work. Although, I can not use the Mainbody position at all.

From my understanding The configuration:
MainBody Frontpage: Mainbody and Main Body -
subpages: component only

Should work correctly. but it doesn't happen. And when I click on a article link that does not have a corresponding item category in the menu it brings the article with the home layout (which does not have the component activated - only the mainbody).

So, my first question is: if I really got it right and the solution would be always to create a hidden menu item and associate the article category with it?

If this is correct, I would like to know if do you consider this a bug that should addressed somehow in the future?

I've find out one more solution by adding to liks in code "&Itemid=999". Unfortunately an issue You are talking about is an old joomla problem. They figured out that if someone doesn't have a category in menu item than not related article should be displayed where it was clicked. Maby it's problem for us now, but I've read an article where they told that it's logical solution.
