I think it's a conflict with one of 3rd party modules, but please to make sure rename /html/com_content to /html/_com_content . This way a default files from joomla will be used. Please also check if parsing plugins is not disable in article/category/menu item settings.

Try to use a default file for article only. Simply rename or remove this file, so a default one will be loaded from joomla original code.
