Hi! I created a site, with this template, but i am experiencing problems with the menus, when the site is visited on an iPhone or iPad. The "scroll-down"-menu is not working. I don't know what exactly the menu-type is called.
I could use a mobile-site on iPhone, even though I'm not interested in that. The biggest problem is on the iPad.

Hope you can help!

Thanks!

Thank you, that menu is made for mobile layout which is to be improved performance of the site in handheld devices because in order to use dropdown menu it would require much javascript code that makes the site load very slowly.

What is exactly the problem you have got with iPad?

Thanks again,

The problem on the iPad, is the same as on the iPhone, but i can make a mobile-site to the iPhone, and don't think i can do that to the iPad?

Does that mean, that it can't be fixed? There must be someway, to use the menu on a handheld device like iPhone and iPad. I'm sorry, but i don't won't to have a special mobile-site, like the one activated right now.

Thanks!

I don't really understand what you mean, is it that you want to have the same menu style with desktop layout in mobile layouts? If so, it's impossible as of now.

I don't have a mobile site, and i'm not interested in having one. It was just turned on before, so i could see how it looked. I want the default site on all devices, as it is now. The problem is, that when i have that, the menus are not working properly. I can't access the sub menus on mobile devices.

Hope you understand, sorry for the inconvenience! :)

I understand your point now. The desktop (default) layout is made to display the site with fully features including a lot of javascript code so it's quite heavy for handheld devices to load, that's why we make mobile layouts to serve this purpose.

I hope you understand, we do not recommend to use default layout for all devices because it's not supported to display properly in some as of some unexpected issues.

Great! I understand that it might be slow and buggy, but my problem is that the menu is not working. Not on the iPad either. If i am willing to run with a slow site on mobile, is their a way that i can get these menus to work? So i can access the sub-pages in the menu on handheld devices?

I'm terribly sorry man, I really want to help you but this is going beyond my support scope and ability because I don't have any device to check the problem, moreover I believe that this would require very much customization to make the menu work well, that's why we don't use dropdown menu for the layouts but a simpler one.

Are there any other supporters that could help me? It's for a client, and the site is already online, and they'll kill me if i doesn't get this to work. Maybe we could adjust the menu, so when you hover over with the mouse, the dropdown-menu shows, but it doesn't go away if you remove the mouse. You'll have to hover over again to get it away? Would we be able to do that?

Besides, i can see that you use dropdown menus in your demo aswell. It is a bit weird to me, that you would use it in the demo, when it's not working on handheld devices. Not even iPad, which i can't create a mobile-site for.

Thanks in advance!

Hi

I can see it working fine. The issue is that there is no mouse cursor in iPad or iPhone so You need to use a different layout or prepare menu differently. For example do not use links, but just separators for items which got submenus.

Hi

That's easy. Just go to menu manager and where You have a menu item with submenu You need to change a type for it's first item to "separator". This way it will not link, but a slide option for submenu will work.

Or You can activate a mobile template in template settings, so a different layout will be used with menu mobile devices prepared.
