Hi

I'm trying to allow users to add items from the front end using K2. I've got this working on a number of other sites but something's amiss with my "financial business" template.

First, K2 - the categories are created, user groups set, permissions within the groups set and then users assigned to groups. However, the "Add Item" within a category listing just will not appear.

I began my troubleshooting and I think it's something to do with the authentication. The default authentication from the quickstart is Joomla. The login button on the top right of Financial Buisness is Joomla, when I disable the Joomla login I obviously can't login to the site.

So, how does K2 get involved with the authentication process to identify who's logged in and the associated user permissions for K2?

Please help, banging head! :)

Ok, figured it out, ignore all my idiotic ramblings about K2 and Joomla authentication...

When selecting a category to list/associate to a menu item I was choosing, "Latest items from (one or more) users or categories". I was then selecting one category to display under the menu option.

This option would not display the "Add a new item to this category".

However, when associating a menu item to a single category by selecting "Category" and not the "one or more categories/users" option the "Add a new item to this category" appears just fine!

Is this working as designed? It would be nice to display the "Latest Items from (one or more) users or categories" AND have the option to "Add a new item to a/this category" available.

Anyway, finally happy (ish)!
