YouTube WebApp in HTML5

Google has recently renewed its mobile site YouTube and this time used the new web standard that promises to further enrich the web and interact better with multi-touch screens. Smartphones, as of now, they can take advantage of YouTube directly to the browser, as if they had to use the traditional “YouTube Player” present in many smartphones.

Thanks to the new default web (HTML5) YouTube can now offer a richer content without the need for dedicated applications thus making a WebApp (Web Application) that can be accessed directly through the browser, the address and m.youtube.com be recorded on the application form. Since this is a web standard, it can be used on all platforms (which are prepared for HTML5).

As shown in the video presentation which served as either the iPhone or Android, can now have virtually all of the functions of Youtube videos and running almost instantly on native players without having to resort to Youtube Player or Flash Plugins.

This is possible because the HTML5 uses specific tags for that purpose, thereby once again demonstrated the enormous potential that HTML5 will bring us in future in respect of WebApps. After you open the browser, it is possible to write this “shortcut” that will remain as a form of application, thus having a direct access from other applications.

Thus, Google is betting not only on quality, as will further open the horizons for those who wish to produce sites in HTML5, offering rich content fully as if they were native applications. This measure will achieve all platforms without having to program and use the AppStore to offer this type of content, which could be soon adopted by many other sites in the near future and even games. This innovation by Google, was already known at the famous site Vimeo, but now with its introduction on Youtube the impact could be even greater.
