The process of creating a WordPress theme is quite complex. For that reason, many useful extensions have been created to made a website developer’s work much easier. This tip presents a few WordPress plugins we find to be particularly useful.
A great tools to optimize your development environment
- Developer – a plugin which installs other useful developer plugins, the most useful of which are described below.
- Theme Check – this must-have assesses your theme’s code and returns a full report about any problems it found. This is very useful if you plan to submit your theme into the official WordPress Themes repository.
- Monster Widget – use this to understand how standard WordPress widgets are rendered on your website in specific places. Monster Widget will render them as a single widget!
- VIP Scaner – a useful scanner to detect potential WP website vulnerabilities.
- Debug This – an awesome tool which allows you to check many elements of your site from the admin bar, without even changing your scripts i.e. to see the current content of the widgets array variable.
