Version 3.8.1 of WordPress was released last week; it’s a maintenance release which corrects 31 bugs from earlier versions.
It includes fixes and improvements for the new dashboard design and themes’ admin screen.
The most important fixes were an issue with taxonomy queries in WP_Query, and a problem with “submit” buttons that were unresponsive when clicked on. It also contains a fix for embedding tweets, which was broken due to a recent Twitter API change, as well as some other improvements:
- Prevent the admin color scheme from changing when editing as another user
- Adds a contrasting border to admin feature pointers
- Prevent widget controls from going off the screen when editing extra-wide widgets on small devices
- Responsive improvements to submenus in the toolbar

If your site supports automatic background updates, your site is probably already updated to the latest version. If not, please check the Updates section in the Dashboard.
I have checked the compatibility of all of our Themes with this newest release and I haven’t encountered any issues, so if you don’t have background updates activated, we recommend that you update your WordPress installation to the latest version.
