Microsoft launches Internet Explorer 9 RC

Microsoft launched yesterday the Release Candidate of its new Internet Explorer 9 and strides to the final version. Several months after the Beta version of new browser from the giant Microsoft, here we come to RC’s version. Microsoft said, will revolutionize the way we surf the Internet.

What’s new in Internet Explorer 9

  • Graphics hardware accelerated.
  • Support for the modern standards.
  • Navigation integrated in Windows 7.

IE9 the RC includes the following features:

  • The JavaScript engine “Chakra” from interprets IE9, compiles and executes code in parallel by taking advantage of multiple processor cores. In this new version to make new performance optimizations and, according to SunSpider, this RC is 35% faster than the Beta version of IE9: about 322ms 209ms against the RC.
  • Notifications are automatically ignored less relevant as the highest priority are highlighted, making IE9 less intrusive.
  • Tabs can be placed in a different line, increasing the space to open tabs.
  • Sites “posted” (pinned) may include more than one homepage, so you can click on a site posted on the task bar and open multiple sites at once.
  • You can post sites to the taskbar anywhere and developers can implement support drag to post “on their pages.
  • Tracking and Protection Tracking Protection Lists can now be activated.
  • Filtering to block ActiveX Activex on untrusted sites.
  • InPrivate Browsing is supported sites posted to allow for more privacy through the taskbar.
  • Support for CSS2D Transforms, Semantic HTML5 tags, geolocation and WebM (when a codec is installed).
