Last week we created a little Joomla quiz for you to test your Joomla knowledge on, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Joomla!. Now it’s time to reveal the correct answers for those curious, especially since taking into the results we saw posted on Twitter it wasn’t easy getting the full 15/15; there was always one or two questions that threw everyone off :) If you still haven’t taken the quiz, stop reading and go give it a try now before you spoil all the answers!

What is the latest stable Joomla! release version?
The correct answer is, of course: v.3.4.3, with Joomla 3.5’s release currently planned for October 2015 according to the Joomla roadmap.

When was Joomla! 1.0 released?
This question could cause some problems (which was our intention all along!), as the anniversary of Joomla! is not actually celebrated on the anniversary of the release of version 1.0, but on the day of the project’s announcement. In fact, version 1.0 was published on 16th of September, 2005. Even so, even this date may be called into question because Joomla’s article on Wikipedia provides different dates depending on the article language, with September 16th, September 17th, and even September 22nd (the date the official Joomla logo was published) all offered up as origin dates. To save the hassle of sorting through all these dates, we just took the answer direct from the horse’s mouth; that is, we took into account the date this post was first published on Joomla.org.

Of course the Joomla! software uses the GPL license; though this question may have caused a little confusion for users paying attention to the Joomla! community early last year, when the license for the Joomla! Framework, on which the Joomla! software is built, was changed to LGPL.

Which feature is NOT available in the Joomla! core?
The mechanism that is not available by default in Joomla! is oEmbed. This feature has been implemented in some CMSs, such as WordPress. It’s used to automatically replace certain links with content. For example, links to a Twitter status can be changed into a view of the status in a tweet box, with functional links and images. The same applies with links to videos or photos on popular social channels.

Which class does NOT exist in the Joomla! package?
Probably one of the most difficult and tricky questions. The correct answer is JURL – instead of this class, there is a class with a very similar name JUri. We are sorry for being so evil with this one!

Which of these is NOT a type of Joomla! extension?
A slightly easier question, this one. The answer is, of course, dropin. This term is taken from WordPress, where dropin means a plugin which overwrites some mechanisms of WordPress, for example, the cache or database service, and replaces them with its own installations.
