Inkscape 0.48 arrived recently to the public after 9 long months of development. Years ago, when Windows vs Linux started, it could be seen were the work of comparison between what to use on both systems to do certain jobs. Windows on level point of graphic design, always get’s the best result … but the advantage is narrowing, all thanks to this and other great applications such as Inkscape.
Inkscape is an excellent Open Source vector image editor, with features and tools similar to Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Xara X. It uses the W3C standard: file format SVG – Scalable Vector Graphics. You can import a variety of formats such as PostScript, EPS, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, etc.
This new release (Inkscape 0.48) brings many new features including most importantly the inclusion of the new tool Spray, multipath editing, rotation of objects and a much improved interface and intuitive. You can check out all the news here.
It is very intuitive, extremely lightweight (consumes few system resources and loads with impressive speed), powerful and fully standards-compliant XML, SVG and CSS.
Use it on either Windows, Linux or Mac and save many euros in licenses proprietary tools.
