First of all I have to mention today’s update of Joomla to version 2.5.2. This is a security release (Two Security Issues Fixed). The update process in Joomla is very easy (almost one click in Extension Manager) – so you don’t have to update core files by FTPing them.
More info, as always, you ‘ll find on project website: www.joomla.org
Second, Nicholas K. Dionysopoulos and this team are pleased to announce the immediate availability of Akeeba Kickstart 3.4.0. This release addresses minor issues which were affecting all previous releases and introduce a new design for Kickstart. Also Akeeba Backup 3.4.0 is the new stable release of Akeeba Backup. It brings new features, such as: Box.net integration and direct import of arbitrary archives from Amazon S3, and fixes the Dropbox integration. Remember that only Joomla! 1.5, 1.7 and 2.5 are supported.
After coupes of days, you can download new test a version of JomSocial 2.6 RC2. For details you have to visit a official JomSocial blog (www.jomsocial.com/blog/).
It is also worth mentioning that after over a year to developing – the stable version of JComments 2.3 is available for download from www.joomlatune.com. A powerful and very popular comment system for Joomla with flexible ACL, smiles, BBCodes and avatars support. This release support for all existing versions of Joomla — Joomla 1.0, Joomla 1.5, Joomla 1.7 and Joomla 2.5. The next version is planned for April or May of 2012. So it was worth the wait, just a pity that this comment system is not built into the core of new Joomla.
