Google+ API is already available

Google announced the availability of a social services API for Google +. By providing an API (Application Programming Interface) developers can create their own projects using the information provided in the Google+.

Google+ API is already available Importantly, this initial API release is focused on public data only — it lets you read information that people have shared publicly on Google+, such as profile or made available for all content. After sending the query data is returned in a simple in construction JSON (JavaScript Object Notation), which aims to facilitate their subsequent use. They provide libraries for your favorite language: Java, GWT, Python, Ruby, PHP, Objective-C, and .NET.

Shared API has several limitations. However, it is expected that over time Google will release subsequent versions of the API and allows developers to more in-depth integration with Google + and better use of opportunities offered by this community project.

You can find more information about the Google+ platform, including today’s new APIs to public data, at Google Developers site.
