Last year, Google introduced the ability to transmit live video in the chat – Google Hangouts – for selected users. This allows certain users, Google’s social network have the ability to broadcast lectures, concerts, training and cooking classes to a wide audience from around the world.
Since then, the function has been used in various interesting and creative ways that you can watch the following clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=3pmSWh2BQco
Google were so excited to launch Hangouts On Air to Google+ users worldwide. So if you have something to say—as an aspiring artist, a global celebrity, or a concerned citizen—you can now go live in front of a global audience. With just a few clicks, you’ll be able to:
- Broadcast publicly.
- See how many viewers you’ve got.
- Record and re-share.
Google reports that the possibility of organizing “Hangouts On Air” will be gradually made available to all Google users + over the next few weeks.
So if you’re a creative cook or want to lead online training – it is a great way to advertise your skills (and website of course) around the world.
Google+ is doing well in terms of number of users, which last month was 170 million. Less time spent on the site – while Facebook users spend a few hours on Google’s site remains a few people, and most of the traffic comes from search results. Google+ may look poorly against the competition, but it is one of the fastest growing sites in the world.
