Here's my suggestion (better solution, in my opinion)

Why don't you try existing extension (most of all free extension) that provides this and much more? I mean, why invent what is already created?
Search on joomla extensions (something related with social communities) and i'm sure you will find it.

I understand what you mean and i know that there are plenty of social media extensions, but none of them gives me what i want.

Most of them are plugins that needs to be placed in every article. Im building a site for a client with almost no computer experience, and this just have to run its own show.

So i really need to change thoose links.

So, what in that code cam i replace with an ordinary link without destroying my site?:)

Here is the list of files with numbers of lines where the this icons occures. You can make changes there. Sorry but I do not know javascript much so don't want to mess something with telling You what to do in JHTML::_ function.
