How to create and manage article from frontpage in world new

Hi guys,
Is there a way to enable users to create and manage articles from the front page with the world news 2009 template through GK NEWS like its possible in the default joomla content extension? so that one does not have to grant a back end site access to users in order to create and edit content. I will be grateful for any useful response on how to get this done. Thank you.

This feauture should come in standard with joomla, You just need to look for an option to allow to show edit button for logged in users. Check category and menu item settings.
