How to add a new module position

In your online documentation on how to add a new module position, seen here: https://www.gavick.com/documentation/jo ... e-position, there is a step 2 that says to edit the gk.const.php file located in /lib/framework. This file is not located in the gkwriter template. So, my question is how do I add a new module position to the gkwriter template, specifically, I want to have a top toolbar module position at the very top of the template that stretches across the entire width of the site and have the logo position moved from the aside menu bar to inside the new module position. I attached a photo to show what I am asking. I thank you, in advance, your time and help on this matter.
