Adding an image gallery to frontpage

Hi, i'm in the need to add a classical image gallery to frontpage: thumbs that open in popup

I'm trying using Simple Image Gallery Pro of JoomlaWorks but, when i insert html code, i obtain the code, not the gallery.

By now i insert the images by hand but i need more flexibility.
Any idea?

As I understand this "shortcode" doesn't work only in custom html modules? Is it working correctly in Joomla / K2 articles?
