Short codes doesn't work

Hi,
I'm trying to modify the Frontpage with a blog roll/feed. I'm using the "standard" wordpress short code for blog roll [blogroll category=2]. But all that showing up is the exakt text [blogroll category=2].
I've tried more short codes and it's the same.

Are the short codes somehow filtered in this theme? How can I make it work.

This shortcode doesn't work also on any default theme, like Twenty Thirteen, other shortcodes work properly i.e. gallery or agenda shortcode which is part of the theme. If you want to add blogroll shortcode, please check this article:

I'll check those articles out. I thought those kinds of short codes were standard in wordpress. My bad.
