Featured products not displaying correctly

Have to say I am very happy with the storefront template and liking what it does and how it looks.
I do however have a problem with the display of featured products.

I have created a number of new product pages and also modified a number from the quick start package content.
The newly created products do NOT display in the featured page (featured check box selected) as shown in the attached image (featured)

The modified products (new description and new image) from the quick start content display correctly UNTIL the SKU is modified. As soon as this occurs they now longer display in the featured section of the site.
The content that is being displayed on the Featured section of the site links back to the default Tabs & NSP how to guide (?page_id=1657) as per the quick start content

All products, new and modified, dimply in the NEW section of the site as show on the 2nd attached image (new)

Unfortunately names of the tabs (Featured, new, hit etc) are only names, featured tab doesn't display featured products. If you want to change data source of News Show Pro widget used on these pages, you should change the shortcode in the contend of new subpages, please check these articles:
