Logged in status

Hi, is there a possibility to show the customer whether she/he is logged in or not? On the top beside the cart it would be nice I think ...
If there any ideas, please let me know.

You can use code described here:
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?p=2725146
to check if user is logged in. It works correctly with vm.
