Images are distorted in news show pro widget

I'm building a product site using the John theme. I'm changing the "My cozy blog" section to show products. I have the News Show Pro widget configured to select posts from the "Shop" category I created. Each post has a featured image which is what displays in the widget on the front-end. I noticed when I view the featured image on the home page they are not clear, and look blurry - I check the image source and it's a cached image in the gk_nsp_cache folder with a new name.

How do I get they original images to display clearly? Why do my images look distorted?

News Show Pro generates thumbnails from your original images, so you have to set correct image dimensions and that's all, please check "article layout" tab in your News Show Pro settings.
