Table rendering on Firefox

I have a table to display a squash tournament draw that renders fine in IE and on ipad and (almost) on iphone .

However, when viewed with Firefox the second and third columns display split cells (apart from the first and the last). So the second column should be 8 cells but displays as 14 having inserted 6 empty cells, and the rtghird column displays 6 instead of 4 with 2 empty cells.

Hi

Firefox has a function to autocomplete if html syntax is wrong. There is no inference from template with it. You need to check syntax or use tables inside cells, that always works.
