Update from world news II

I want to update my site form "the world news II" to this new "news"

Also form joomla 2.5 to joomla 3.

My site uses k2 and is a very big site now.

Any hint on how to do this with out to much pain?
Where can I find best practices to do this?
How to migrate all k2 items?

Is gavick releasing any News template soon, that might worth waiting for?

it is becouse those are completely different templates...

but i found a solution to assist in moving:

you will need :
- K2 Import / Export 0.9a http://www.individual-it.net/en/Joomla/ - price is very small
- K2 Import / Export for Joomla 3 - you have to send @ to owner Artur Neumann http://www.individual-it.net/en/kontakt-impressum.html he send me to test this component but i cant resend it....
- you have to copy all IMAGES cataloge and in MEDIA/K2 (here you havel all gallery and videos and other...) so catalogue like CATEGORIES, GALLERIES ale very important

now when you have above thing you have to install components on joomla k2, using K2 TOOL export all what you want; (component will create CSV file), on joomla 3 install TOOL for J3 and import file (CSV), after all when import will finish you have to copy IMAGES to images, MEDIA/K2/..... to media/k2/....

and manualy add all what was not added automaticly...

also you have to manualy configure all modules - i mean that in modues for e.g K2 NEWS set source news kategories...

all translations you also have do manual

but you have to be happy this little tool - K2 IMPORT/EXPRT Tool will save you a lot of time.

Did you update to joomla 3.2? did it work fine?

i migrate to joomla 3.2 to News, export and import was without any problem and any errors
now i have some strange situation becouse i cant do new article - and do not know why becouse after import from J2 TNW2 everything was fine - i check it just by import....

but i try to fix it somehow,

I had a similar problem and it was a problem with the ownership of the file, not the permission but the ownership.
Maybe this info can help.
