How can I turn off the published date and stuff on the left of each article??
I tried the articles options and turned off everything and it still shows.

They are few things that You need to set to disable this sidebar:
show_create_date
show_category
show_author
show_hits
show_print_icon
show_email_icon

You can set those to "No" for each article or set them globally.
If all of them globally will be set to off, sidebar wont show.
