I purchased and downloaded the gk News Quickstart J 30. I was able to use the cpanel at godaddy to upload the files to the folder public_html in a subfolder titled suntimes. The instructions state I should that opening a browser I would get install instructions. None of that occurred. I' don't know where to go from here. Any assistance you be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
1) First you added topic in wrong category !
2) Have ever made any website before on godaddy server ?

Probably you copied all files also with "gk_news_quickstart_J30" folder ?
If yes, you have to add this folder name into address bar, then installer will start.

Please read this guide: http://www.gavick.com/documentation/joo ... -joomla-3/
I hope it will help you.

Thank you for prompt response. Sorry for wrong position of post. so confused I thought I was in right place. This is first gavick template for me. uploaded and unzipped using cPanel at godaddy to folder public_html. There is a subfolder named suntimes and this is where the files are residing. following your instruction i entered: The http://lrsuntimes.com/suntimes/gk_news_quickstart_J30 and the site returned a 404 error.
I was reading the directive you refered me to when I made it to this point. Please advise or assist in getting quickstart installed and configured. Great appreciation.
Thanks

Are you sure is URL wrong? Because I see installer - please check again.

1) I suggest to rename folder name from "gk_news_quickstart_J30" to "new' USE FILE MANAGER or FTP Client - it would be shorter to remember
2) Now you have to insert all data which Joomla needs.

p.s.
Remember you have to do all installation step by your self, because this is not template support.
I suggest to buy a book about Joomla 3.x - there are few : http://www.packtpub.com/search?keys=joo ... t=20&op=Go

I will purchase. Thank you. Having observed you screen capture I followed you and have attached my result. I can rename the folder and all but I've looked at this several times and don't see where my url is different from yours but i get a different result. Do I have some other problem that is unrelated to this quickstart installation? SMH
Thanks

But I still see installer page here:
http://lrsuntimes.com/suntimes/gk_news_quickstart_J30/installation/index.php

maybe change browser , is not Joomla fault anymore.
Please clear browser cache!!
Four people from different computers saw it also.

...Don't give up... you are very close to have your own Joomla page
