No ability to set columns or rows in specific module modes

Why is there no ability to set columns or rows in specific module modes such as Centre Title Overlay, Portfolio, Title Overlay?

I am trying to use it in Centre Title Overlay mode and display 4 items in a row from a K2 Category. How do I do this?

Module styles are designed to change a specific look only, so some options are blocked. Anyway please show me Your site and I'll see if this cannot be adjusted with css.
