Setting up parallax

Beautiful and responsive WordPress theme with amazing parallax effect.

I imported the creative theme using "gk_creative.zip", then applied it. It does apply the theme, but my site automatically opens to a post, instead of having the parallax scene. The theme came with a few different zips. is there a different one I should have imported? Or is there a readme file that steps through the initial setup? I'm still looking through the files, but haven't found one yet. Thanks!

Hi,

If you want to have the website exactly as on the demo, please use gk_creative_quickstart.zip package, the installation is described here:

This article should be also helpful:

Hi Piotr,

I had viewed both of those. I tried to just set up the theme around my existing site. It did apply, but it opens to a post, and the parallax graphics can't be seen ( http://www.minorjoystudios.com ). So then I tried using the quick start. I created a clean subdomain, then unzipped and uploaded the quickstart zip. You can see that at http://www.staging.minorjoystudios.com . It also doesn't have the parallax graphics set up. Is there some code I need to set up? I assumed this portion would automatically be set up in the template. Thanks!

Was thinking about the full install (I don't mind doing a fresh creation of the website, there wasn't much on to start). The directions have you upload the quick start, then set up wordpress. I actually used Hostgator's quick wordpress install, then uploaded the quickstart files. Maybe something didn't get over-written due to permissions. I didn't get any errors, but I'll re-do it tonight, following the instructions to the letter and see if that makes a difference. In the meantime, is there anything else I should look at if I still have problems? I didn't see an option for setting a background image. Thanks!

Ok, that did it. Manually installing wordpress instead of using my host's install got the theme up with the parallax effects running. Now to go re-do my actual website. Thanks!
