Configuration like Demo of John Theme

Dear all,
I've installed the John Theme but it' s really difficult to obtain a site like the demo.
Is it possible to have some help to obtain a customization like the demo?
Why demo files are not loaded and import has resetted everything to default..... No demo available

The best option to reproduce exact demo content is use the quickstart package - it is a WordPress instance with everything configured as our demo. In other way you will have to configured manually widget's and theme settings. Our demo content is strictly based on the widgets, unfortunately currently WordPress doesn't offer any option to export these settings in an easy way.

Hi Piotr,
thank you for your prompt reply. I' ve done all you said in your answer and now I have the same customization as for the demo but, in works page, it does not work properly in fact, I set new categories and applyed them to my pictures. First of all in the filter array some categoryes do not appear and furthermore the filter does not work..... for example if I click on "Street photography" nothing happens....
What have i to do to fix it???
