How exclude a category from the main page (MainBody)

What's the preferred way to exclude a category from the main area of posts only in front page?

Maybe overriding a template? (if yes, could you please me let me know which ?)

Yes you should use Child-Theme to do it (you have to change loop from index.php file). Child theme description may be found here:
