Hi there,
We installed and used the Social GK5 module on our site yesterday:
Since then we have received several security warnings while browsing the front-end with Google Chrome.
What is triggering these attacks when it is enabled and how to resolve this?
It is a great module and we really need it for our work.

hi,
hmm strange, by this kind of module nobody can hack joomla site, it shows only data from fb API.
But I'll send this topic to our developer

Thanks Oscar E.
Could also let me know if this module can be used with a Facebook Page instead of a Facebook Application?
If yes, how to configure it for comments?

General guide: https://www.gavick.com/documentation/jo ... ocial-gk5/

but this is module so ... manually you have to assign module to those articles,
so maybe it would be better to use social comment plugin, there few of them on JED

@donkey12 - are you sure that your issue was connected with our module? We are getting this kind of report first time. Additionally it seems for me like a false positive and I'm not sure if Chrome is able to detect malware software so fast on the website, because the malware screens are based on the user reports.

Hi dziudek & Oscar E.,

Thank you for your replies.

We have reconfigured the module with our Facebook Page details.
Since then we haven't experienced the same problem.
Could you please confirm that Social GK5 can be also used with a Facebook Page to comment?

If yes, can we enter our Facebook Page ID in:
- Facebook Settings / Application ID
- Facebook Comments Layout / Facebook User ID

If we do experience the same security issue, we'll post a screenshot of the warning message.

Application ID is different than Facebook Page ID - Application ID is prepared for a specific URL in the developers portal on facebook. Facebook Page ID is an ID of your fanpage on facebook.

Hi dziudek,
Thank you for your reply.
I am trying to establish if the module can work with a Facebook Page (instead of a Facebook App).
Is that possible?

As far as I know Facebook comments won't work with facebook page - it will work only with facebook app.

Thanks dziudek,
We will work with a Facebook App only.
We note that those tagged in a Facebook comment on our site are not notified by email or on their Facebook timeline.
How to configure either Social GK5 or Facebook App to achieve this?

Did you specified the comments admin ID? It seems that admin ID and app ID is necessary for getting the notifications.

Thanks dziudek,
- Site: We did a scan and we confirm that the codes are clean.
The Google Chrome warning messages are a bit of a mystery.
- Social GK5: Can the admin ID be any user ID number?
- Social API: We would like to integrate the site further with Facebook.
Is there a documentation available to configure the News template for a Facebook Login?

Admin ID can be any Facebook user ID.

Social API: https://www.gavick.com/documentation/?s ... h+facebook ;)

Thanks dziudek,
That's noted and we've configured the module accordingly.
We're now using it on site and everything seems to be working fine except the tagging.
A friend tagged in a Facebook Comment will not be notified either by email or on his timeline page.
Could you please test the plugin on this page from your end and let us know if you could possibly identify the issue?

Sorry but in this case it must be an issue with FB API - there is all what is necessary by documentation - I cannot do more with it.

Thanks dziudek.
We will use the documentation and check our Fabecook API configuration.
