Using register module for newsletter subscription

Hello everyone, I will not be using the register module for gaining access to the website, but want to use it to subscribe to a newsletter. I need to know how to 'disable' the automatic email being sent requesting users to activate their account. Thanks in advance for your help.

I do not know what register module or even which template do You use, so all I can advice is that there should be the setting for this in this module/template configuration.
